So how to sign up?

Visit the PennyTel promotional page and enter your email address. In few minutes, you will receive set of emails to your inbox with login information. Remember to check your Spam/junk if you did not receive the mail.

After receiving the login details, you can use two ways to call for free.

Using iPhone/iPod Touch App:

You can use PennyTel app available at iStore. This app is free of cost and you can log in and make calls right from your iPhone or iPod Touch. This helped me to convert my iPod touch to a iPhone. :)

Make sure you have WiFi or 3G environment . Because all calls are powered by VoIP.

Call from PC using Softphone:

Log in to PennyTel and Click the PennyTel softphone [see the image below]

Enter the number and click the call button [ which is green in color ]. If you are having any trouble with Firefox because of using Java plugin(like me), you can use Google Chrome. Chrome handles Java without any problem.

Remember free calls are available till January 8,2011. Free calls are available only to landline in Australia , UK and New Zealand. While in other countries you can call to mobile and landline.

There are two other ways you can make call. But those methods need some initial cost and configurations. They are SmartDial and by using ATA(Analogue Telephone Adapter).

About SmartDial:

If you are a SIP user, use these config.

SIP Proxy : sip.pennytel.com
Domain : sip.pennytel.com
SIP Register : Yes
Preferred Codec : g729, g723
Port : 5060
