Quadrant App – Run Benchmark for Android devices

Quadrant is a powerful benchmark App for android smart phone. The word “Benchmark” means  “the act of running a computer program, a set of programs, or other operations, in order to assess the relative performance of an object, normally by running a number of standard tests and trials against it” [Wikipedia]


In simple words, calculating performance metric for each component. The free Quadrant Standard Edition app is used for measuring

  • CPU – Arithmetic( such as int, floating point) , branching, compression, checksum, XML parsing, Audio & Video decoding.
  • Memory – Throughput.
  • I/O – File System read, File System write, database read, database write,
  • 2D graphics
  • 3D graphics
 I tested it in rooted Galaxy Mini S5570 (or Galaxy pop ) running Gingerbread 2.3.4 version.  See the pictures below:

Normally rooted phones have better performance result. You can clearly see that rooted Galaxy mini has better score than standard Galaxy I9000 S.
In free version, you can see only the Total score.  Advanced and Professional version has the following advantages
  • Ad free
  • Custom settings
  • Viewing Sub-score
  • Offline score view
  • Commercial use
